RISING

In the last hundred years global sea levels have risen faster than any other time in history. This is because of human activities. It is predicted that over 5,400 homes and businesses in Limerick will be flooded in the next 30 years. There is still time to take action on climate change and to protect the planet and our local resources from the worst effects

RISING is an immersive audio experience exploring the often-overwhelming topic of climate change from the point of view of a young Limerick local living close to the water.

Taking place on the banks of the river Shannon, RISING brings the far away problem of the climate crisis right to our doorstep and calls upon the audience to take a stand to save our planet home.

RISING was originally commissioned by Dublin Theatre Festival and supported by Creative Ireland’s Creative Climate Action Fund and Trinity College Dublin & Trinity’s Grand Canal Innovation District Artist Residency for Brokentalkers.
